About the event

Are you a parent of a young person aged 16-25 years with a special educational need or disability?

Over the past 18 months parent representatives from Bromley Parent Voice have been working with the London Borough of Bromley to improve the ‘Local Offer’ for young people aged 16-25 years old with special educational needs or disabilities.

This has involved arranging a Providers Day, regular meetings, focus groups and visits to other London Boroughs to see how they deliver services and support for this group of young people.

We strongly believe that our children and young people should have

  • The same opportunities as their brothers, sisters and peers
  • Fair access to the support they need to live their lives
  • Families who feel supported in their caring roles and as they plan for adulthood with their son/daughter

The next stage of this project is to form a small working group of parents who are willing to work with us to set up a ‘hub’ in Bromley.  We know that for most parents of disabled children, time is in short supply.  Yet it is vital that we join together, pool our knowledge and expertise to exert real influence and bring about change.

If you can give some of your time on a regular basis and would like to attend our first meeting to be held at 7pm on 22nd April at the Hawes Down Centre, West Wickham , please email info@bromleyparentvoice.org.uk.

Thank you.  Together we can make a difference!
