Parliamentary Inquiry into School Transport

17:14 13 October in National News

School transport is a real issue for many families with disabled children and is one of the ‘burning issues’ identified by the NNPCF.

Contact a Family are considering running a Parliamentary Inquiry with some MPs and Peers to help raise awareness of the school transport problems. This will cover Early years, Post 16 and Post 18 transport issues as well as access to quality travel training. The Inquiry will include an online ‘call for evidence’ and some oral evidence sessions in Parliament.

Contact a Family are currently working with NNPCF Steering Group to finalise the structure for the Inquiry. The online ‘Call for Evidence’ will be launched late September/early October.

If you would inform this inquiry please feedback your issues and/or examples of good practice to by 7th November.

Should you have any queries regarding the parliamentary inquiry please contact your Regional Steering Group representative in the first instance.
