Transition Workshop

Date: Thursday  9th February  2011

Time: 10.30 am  to 2.30pm

Council Chambers, Civic Centre,

Bromley.  

Bromley Parent Voice in partnership with the Transition Team invites you to a workshop for all parents and carers young people aged 13—19 with a disability or additional need.

The workshop will provide parents and carers with information and will cover the following : 

  • The transition process and timeline
  • Eligibility & Assessments
  • The Journey — a parent’s perspective
  • The transition pathways
  • Support with Change
  • Questions and Answer session 

We will be joined by guest speakers from the Transition Team, London Borough of Bromley and the Voluntary Sector. 

The day will include the official launch of the Resource Guide to Transition in Bromley. 

Light  refreshments will be provided. 

Please bring you own lunch.

‘RAISING ASPIRATIONS'

Bromley Parent Voice's third annual conference will take place on Saturday 3rd March, 2012 from 10.30am - 4pm at the Hawes Down Centre, Hawes Lane, West Wickham BR4 9AE ( next to Glebe School).

The theme for this year's conference is Raising Aspirations and will include an overview of the SEN & Disability Green Paper: Support & Aspirations.

'Parents Are Special Too'  are parent support groups 'Parents are Special Too' which currently meet at three of the Children & Family Centres (CFC’s) in the London Borough of Bromley:

        BLENHEIM, Orpington                

        MOTTINGHAM                           

 These groups are run by parents for parents weekly.  A free creche is available (places must be booked in advance with the Children Centre Co-ordinator). Light refreshments will be provided at all sessions.  For more information please click here.  The groups will provide parents with the opportunity to discuss issues, receive information and share experiences. Please contact the centres directly for days and times.

The groups are being supported by Bromley Parent Voice, Localised Services and the Specialist Support & Disability Service.
