Disabled Children and Health Reform

22:06 25 August in National News

The Government is planning to implement the biggest shake up of Health and Social Care frameworks for a decade. Every Disabled Child Matters (EDCM) wants to use the opportunity of legislation passing through Parliament in the Autumn to highlight some of the difficulties families experience with health services (in all their diversity) and to make sure that the new frameworks meet the needs of disabled children and young people better.

Members of the NNPCF Steering Group are involved in this work and will seek parent/carers views via the local forums and regional networks.

Contact a Family have produced a helpful guide for parent forums to changes in the NHS.  This can be downloaded by clicking here.

Information to proposed changes to Paediatrics Wheelchair and Continence Services can be downloaded here.
