Care Act 2014
The Care Act consolidates existing adult social care statute into a single piece of law and the first phase on these reforms comes into effect on 1 April 2015. The changes set out in the Care Act will have an impact on the range and quality of support available to disabled young people as they prepare for adulthood. Statutory guidance is now available, which sets out how local authorities should implement the Care Act.
The Preparing for Adulthood programme has also produced a super guide on the links between the Care Act and the Children and Families Act.
